Former President Pranab Mukherjee, Indian public relations leader Nanaji Deshmukh and singer Bhupen Hazarika will be given the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna.


Bharat Ratna will be awarded after four years intervals. Narendra Modi Government has given the award to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and founder of Banaras Hindu University Madan Mohan Malviya in 2015.


It is said an official statement that Deshmukh and Hazarika were elected for the posthumous award.


Mukherjee, who is known as Pranab Das, was president between 2012 and 2017.


Modi tweeted, "His (Mukherjee) knowledge and wisdom have some similarities and are happy that he has been honoured with Bharat Ratna."


Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Mukherjee is an outstanding statesman of present times who has served the nation selflessly and tirelessly for decades, which has a strong influence on the country's development campaign.

Describing Deshmukh, Modi said that his contribution in rural development has shown a new ideology of empowering our villagers.

"He (Deshmukh) personifies humility, compassion and service to the downtrodden. He is a Bharat Ratna in the truest sense!," he tweeted.

Praising the Hazarika, Modi said that his songs and songs praised the generation of people.


"He (Hazarika) made popular music traditions of India globally and he honoured Bharat Ratna with Bharat Ratna for Indian music tradition."


83-year-old Mukherjee, who was known as the chief of Congress on Friday, the elite club, Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Rajendra Prasad, Zakir Hussain and VV Giri, who received this prestigious award.


In 1982, Mukherjee became India's youngest finance minister at the age of 47. Since 2004, he became the head of three important ministries - Foreign, Defense and Finance Division got the first position of Rashtrapati Bhavan.


Mukherjee had flaked some quarters for participating in an RSS function in Nagpur last year.
Deshokok was associated with the National Health Association from 1928, at the age of seven and seven in 2010, Satkhira was known for starting a school-led discipline inspired by RSS for his death in Madhya Pradesh and all over India.


He was the founding member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which was later formed as the Bharatiya Janata Party.


He was considered the architect of the Jayaprakash Narayan movement against the emergency revolution in 1974 and one of the main people of the Janata Party government in 1977.


Born in 1926, Hazarika was a playback singer, songwriter, musician, singer, poet and filmmaker in Assam.


Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1987), Padmashree (1977), Padmabhushan (2001) and Padma Vibhushan (2012-posthumous posthumously), Hazarika were honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1992.


Hazarika made a Ph.D in Columbia University in 1952. He died in 2011.


The cultural icon was a brush with politics and in 2004. BJP contested the elections in the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat by helplessly on the BJP ticket. During 1967-72, he was an independent MLA in Assam.


Hazarika has given music in Rudali, Darmiyan, Gaza, Gangini, Daman and many other Bollywood films, including the award-winning film 'Samli Mansab'.


These three recipients have so far been awarded a total of 48 eminent people.
